Abstract
Pekanbaru City is one of the cities with high growth in electric vehicles, namely 4.45% per year. 120 electric cars are already operating in Pekanbaru. Still, the availability of SPKLU is only 7 units, meaning that only 70 electric cars can meet their power needs if we refer to the recommendations published by the International Energy Agency (IEA). The number of electric vehicles will continue to increase in line with the target planned by the Indonesian government, namely 15 million by 2030. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method to predict the number of electric vehicles and calculate the need for Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) in the city of Pekanbaru in 2030. From a policy perspective, researchers conducted a stakeholder mapping analysis to identify the role of each stakeholder. This research uses the Elasticity Coefficient to project the number of electric vehicles in 2030. To calculate the need for SPKLU, researchers use the queuing method. The process of identifying the distribution of SPKLU is carried out by observing existing SPKLU to obtain a map of the distribution of SPKLU in the city of Pekanbaru. The research results show that PLN and the Riau Province Energy and Mineral Resources Service are the parties that play an important role in providing SPKLU in the city of Pekanbaru. In 2030, it is projected that the number of electric cars will be 1765 units and 391 SPKLU units will be needed, with details of 290 of the slow charging type and 101 of the fast charging type. It is hoped that the results of this research will be useful for local governments in developing SPKLU in the future.
