Abstract
Many companies have finally terminated employment relationships with employees due to the rapid increase in the Covid-19 pandemic. Even companies have made extreme decisions, namely the principle of layoffs, terminating work contracts before they expire, reducing wages, part-time work, and unemployment and not being paid. The purpose of this study was to find out the implementation of termination of employment for a certain time at Amaris Hotel Pekanbaru according to Government Regulation Number 35 of 2021 Concerning Implementation of Legal Protection During the Covid-19 Pandemic in Pekanbaru City and to find out the completion of of termination of employment for a certain time at Amaris Hotel Pekanbaru according to Government Regulation Number 35 of 2021 Concerning Implementation of Legal Protection During the Covid-19 Pandemic in Pekanbaru City. The approach method in this study is empirical juridical or field research. The research location was conducted at the Amaris Hotel Pekanbaru, which is located on Number 30 KH. Wahid Hasyim Pinang Sebatang Street, Sumahilang, Pekanbaru City. The researcher uses primary legal materials Government Regulation Number 35 of 2021 concerning Work Agreements for a Specific Time, Outsourching, Working Time and Rest Time, and Termination of Employment Relations, Law Number 2 of 2004 concerning Settlement of Industrial Realtions Disputes, and Regulation of the Minister of Manpower Number 100/MEN/VI/2004 Ministry of Manpower. Tertiary Legal Materials Big Indonesian Dictionary, encyclopedias, cumulative indexes and so on. Based on the results of research on the Legal Review of Termination of Employment for a Certain Time at Amaris Hotel Pekanbaru According to Government Regulation Number 35 of 2021 Concerning the Implementation of Legal Protection During the Covid-19 Pandemic in Pekanbaru City, it is known that the Amaris Hotel Pekanbaru has laid off its workers on the grounds that the hotels profits have decreased due to a reduction in guests stay due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, in terms of compensation, Hotel Amaris Pekanbaru only provides one month’s salary and recommends its workers to get assistance from the Goverment. Hotel Amaris Pekanbaru does not provide compensation in accordance with existing regulations and Hotel Amaris Pekanbaru does not recall workers who were terminated on the grounds that they want workers with the latest quality.
