Abstract
Students of the Civil Engineering Masters Program, Riau Islamic University 2) Lecturer in the Masters Program in Civil Engineering, Riau Islamic University e-mail : aidilfitri20@yahoo.com Abstract Flax Tape is a product brand of strong and water-resistant duct tape. This duct tape is specially formulated, made from thick, flexible, the back is made of rubber which can stick to any shape. The main constituent material is polymer rubber. This study aims to determine the effect of compressive strength and tensile strength on fc'20 concrete aged 14 days and 28 days using variations of the Flex Tape coating. In this study the method used was the experimental study method, namely by conducting experiments directly in the laboratory. This test is only devoted to determine changes in compressive strength and tensile strength. The research was carried out by making cylindrical specimens with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm with fc'20 concrete quality, and Flex Tape made from polymer rubber with a flex tape size of 4 in x 5 ft (10.2 cm x 1.52 cm). Based on the test results and direct observations that have been carried out to obtain the results of the compressive strength test and tensile strength test of the design quality concrete fc' = 20 MPa age 7 and age 28 using Flax Tape and without Flax Tape, it can be concluded that the compressive strength value of concrete using Flax The average tape is 5.2% higher than concrete without using Flax Tape as the concrete ages increase from 7 days and 28 days. The tensile strength value of concrete using Flax Tape is on average lower by -8.29% compared to concrete without using Flax Tape as the concrete ages increase from 7 days and 28 days. The compressive strength value of concrete using Flax Tape aged 28 days experienced the greatest increase with a value of 7.30% while the tensile strength value of concrete using Flax Tape aged 28 days experienced the largest decrease with a value of 21.38%. Flex tape does not significantly affect the compressive strength and tensile strength of concrete
