Abstract

By using Google Classroom, lecturers can provide materials on the subject being taught. The lecturers can post some teaching materials, assign tasks for students, and upload the students’ grade, so that they can immediately see the scores obtained in the course. The intention of the research is to analyze of students’ Perception on using Google Classroom at the fifth semester of English Education of Islamic University of Riau. The research question is stated: “What is students’ perception on using Google Classroom at the fifth semester of English Education of Islamic University of Riau?” The researcher used descriptive research with a quantitative approach because the researcher would describe the students’ perception on the use of Google Classroom in writing skill. The participants of this research were conducted in fifth semester students of English Education at Islamic University of Riau. Research instruments are tools for data collection; include observation, interview and questionnaire. The researcher used documentation and observation as technique collecting the data. The steps in analyzing the data in this study were: reviewing, checking, distributing, and analyzing. Result of the research is the indicator of ease of access Google Classroom in writing skill was agree (72.6%); the indicator of perceived usefulness of Google Classroom showed that most of students (61.2%) were agree perceptions; the indicator of communication and interaction of Google Classroom showed that most of students (44.7%) were neutral/enough perceptions; the indicator of students’ satisfaction of Google Classroom in writing skill showed that most of students (62.5%) were agree perceptions. Students’ satisfaction of Google Classroom in writing skill was obtained on most students agreed with that because using Google Classroom can be a learning initiative and motivation booster, as a method applied to other appropriate subject and as first choice in active learning compare to other method.
