Abstract

The existence of Master of Ceremony in an event is getting higher, the MC profession is starting to be recognized and awarded so that now the MC profession is developing into a profitable profession (producing). In addition to being seen as a profitable profession, the MC profession is also seen as a glamorous or luxurious profession because it has the opportunity to meet important people. For example, the most famous MC in Pekanbaru City, namely Vivien Anjadi Suwito, where Vivien's existence as an MC in Pekanbaru is no longer in doubt. Her appearance in the field and the many contents about the MC that she presents continue to attract the attention of many people, especially the people of Pekanbaru. This study aims to analyze the theory of Looking Glass Self MC in Pekanbaru City in constructing themselves as MCs. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research type with data analysis techniques in the form of observation, observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that Vivien is an example of a professional representation who is able to adapt to various types of events and has a strong image in the eyes of the public. Vivien started her career as an MC because of internal motivation that came from her interest in appearing in public since childhood, supported by a family who finally accepted and supported her choice. Social media plays an important role in Vivien's career. More than just a platform for entertainment and information, Vivien uses social media to build personal branding, share insights, and expand job opportunities as an MC. Vivien has succeeded in building her image as a public figure on social media by displaying an active, hard-working character, and enjoys sharing experiences that are useful for others.
