Abstract
This study aims to explore the opinions of Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Pekanbaru broadcasters on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the production of radio broadcast content. The integration of Artificial Intelligence technology in the broadcasting industry presents opportunities for efficiency but also poses challenges in maintaining creativity and content authenticity. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, using data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving three RRI Pekanbaru broadcasters actively engaged in content production. The findings reveal that broadcasters have a strong belief in the benefits of Artificial Intelligence, including the use of ChatGPT for idea generation and scriptwriting, as well as Adobe Audition and Adobe Podcast for sound editing. They acknowledge that Artificial Intelligence enhances content production efficiency by automating technical tasks. However, challenges arise from AI-generated outputs that are occasionally rigid and less relevant, requiring manual adjustments to align with the broadcasting style and the needs of the local audience. From a value perspective, broadcasters appreciate Artificial Intelligence as a supportive tool but emphasize the importance of upholding broadcasting ethics and human creativity to ensure content remains unique and authentic. Their expectations of Artificial Intelligence include the development of more intuitive and flexible technologies, alongside regular training to improve understanding and skills in its use. This study concludes that while Artificial Intelligence significantly benefits production efficiency, its use must be balanced with creativity and professionalism in broadcasting. The implications of this research highlight the need for institutional policies supporting the strategic broadcasters.
