Abstract

Legal protection of consumers in general has the aim of providing a form of protection to consumers in order to get their rights when shopping for an item to be purchased, therefore an implementation and supervision is needed along with several integrated regulations in order to run very balanced. The main problem in this study is how the form of legal protection against consumers in the sale and purchase of used clothing according to Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection (Study at Monza Market, Sukajadi District, Pekanbaru City). How is the settlement of disputes from the consumer side with the seller of used clothing in the sale and purchase of used clothing. Descriptive research is research that uses data through observations that are directly taken by the author using the method, namely through direct interviews with people who are in the location where the research takes its research data, namely in the Monza Market, Sukajadi District, Pekanbaru City, and using questionnaires to every consumer of used clothing sellers in the Monza market, Sukajadi District, Pekanbaru City. The result of the research that the Legal Protection of Consumers in the Sale and Purchase of Used Clothing According to Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection (Study in Monza Market, Sukajadi District, Pekanbaru City) is the implementation of legal protection against consumers in the Monza market, Sukajadi District, Pekanbaru City has been running well. A total of 29 people out of 55 consumers who feel harmed by damaged used clothing get compensation responsibility, but still have to be researched from the Monza market store Sukajadi District Pekanbaru City. The obstacle to the problem of legal protection of consumers is that the Monza market shop, Sukajadi District, Pekanbaru City, is still trading used clothing that is no longer suitable for use and did not honestly say where the used clothes came from., the lack of concern from the shop regarding the quality of used goods sold and the honesty of the shop makes worry from the consumer as the injured party, it would be better if the shop could be honest so as not to endanger its own consumers.
