Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of using the GeoGebra application on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. This research took place at SMP Negeri 11 Pekanbaru. The population of this study was all students in class VIII at SMP Negeri 11 Pekanbaru with a sample consisting of two classes, namely class VIII.2 as the control class and class VIII.4 as the experimental class. Research data collection techniques include tests or evaluation and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The research results show that the use of GeoGebra media is effective in increasing the ability to understand mathematical concepts (effectively). With the calculation results obtained ??????(2.43)> ?????? (1.996). The result of the effect size test calculation is 0.61. Thus, the use of the GeoGebra Application learning media is effective in students' ability to understand mathematical concepts.
