Abstract

Film is one of the visual aesthetic works that allows the audience to appreciate it. In a film, there must be values contained in the story of the film, such as the values of friendship that we can take from one of the films in Indonesia, namely the film "Agak Laen" from the poster in the film we can see the value of friendship in four friends who agree to build a business at the night market. The theory related to Ferdinand De Saussure's semiotic study in the film "Agak Laen" this theory explains that "the science that studies the role of signs as part of social life". The purpose of the study is to determine the signs of friendship values in the film "Agak Laen". This research is a qualitative descriptive study, using the qualitative content technique of semiotic analysis. Data analysis in this study refers to the focus of the study, namely semiotic analysis based on Ferdinand De Saussure's theory which consists of analysis, namely signifier and signified. The results of the study show that the signifier and signified always exist together, the relationship between the signifier and the signified is called the desired meaning or meaning, thus, it is clear that Saussure in his linguistics uses the dichotomy of the signifier and the signified. The conclusion of this study is that the concept of signifier and signified in the Agak Laen Film, is that the signifier and the signified are a unity of the sign. The signifier is in the form of a form while the signified is a concept. Thus, both will form a sign that has meaning or significance.
