Abstract

Music is part of a work of art. Art is an important part of the human civilization system, which continues to move in accordance with developments in culture, technology and science. In this research, researchers are interested in analyzing the song "Berdanlah This Career Has No Meaning" using Ferdinand De Saussure's Semiotic Analysis because in Ferdinand De Saussure's semiotic model it consists of signifiers and signifieds in order to see what the meaning of motivation is in the lyrics of the song. In researching the lyrics of the song ""Berdanlah This Career Is Nothing Meaningful" can be separated into stanzas, then each stanza will be analyzed using Sausure's semiotic theory, there are three elements, namely markers (the lyrics of the song "Berdanlah This Career Is Nothing Meaningful" song " Dancing This Career Has No Meaning”), signification (the meaning of the lyrics of the song "Dancing This Career Has No Meaning") and significance (motivational meaning). find out the meaning of the lyrics of the song "Berdanlah This Career Has No Meaning" by the Indies using Ferdinand De Saussure's semiotic theory. Based on the research discussion above, it can be concluded that in the lyrics, This song is intended for young people who are pursuing a career in the world of work. Many of us are trapped in a monotonous and tiring work routine, which makes us stressed, some feel bored, and some even feel burnt out. When facing conditions like this, it seems like the career that has been pursued so far has no significant meaning, this song also carries a message that someone must dare to try to free themselves from a boring job, this song carries the message that someone must be brave enough to try to escape from boring work. This song is intended for generation Z (born 2000 – until now) who are just starting their careers. Generation Z is known as a people who prioritize mental health or what is called mental health, so they will eliminate anything that can damage their mental health, so the focus of this song is on career and mental health. Through the concept of you only live once, this song can be used as motivation to love yourself.
