Abstract
HR. Soebrantas Road is an arterial road in Pekanbaru City that connects various areas such as residential areas, shopping centers, and educational institutions. The high volume of vehicles on this road causes an increase in traffic density and exceeds the capacity of the arterial road, leading to congestion. Appropriate measures are needed to resolve this issue and reduce traffic density. The purpose of this research is to determine the trip generation characteristics from residential areas along HR. Soebrantas Road and to find out the volume of vehicles at each intersection on HR. Soebrantas Road, as well as which intersection has the highest vehicle volume. The method used involves trip generation analysis and traffic volume analysis. Surveys were conducted through observation, literature review, interviews, and documentation at collector road intersections along HR. Soebrantas Road. There are 113 residential areas spread across 32 collector roads around HR. Soebrantas Road. Suka Karya Road has the highest number of residential areas, with 17, while several roads, such as Bina Karya Road and Bangun Karya Road, have no residential areas. Purwodadi Road is the intersection with the highest traffic volume, reaching 2,743 vehicles/hour.
