Abstract

A water rowing is a type of exercise equipment, so in principle this water rowing works by pulling a webbing rope to move a wheel that is placed in a tub. In this tub, the rotating propeller is charged in the form of water, the volume of which can be varied depending on the user’s needs. A water rower is a gym tool that imitates rowing movements done indoors. A lot of energy is expended to use the water rowing to simulate rowing movements, every time the gym equipment is pulled by the user, it produces a mechanical movement. This mechanical movement is used to drive the generator installed on the water rowing as an alternative electrical energy producer. In this research, the water rowing equipment was given 6 variations of water volume 10 liters, 20 liters, 30 liters, 40 liters, 50 liters and 60 liters to determine the effectof water volume on electrical energy and electrical power produced by a 500 watt permanent magnet generator ex ac servo motor and micro hydro geenrator. From the results of the volume of water, the more electrical energy and electrical power produced by the permanent magnet generator. And requires large kinetic and mechanical energy. The micro hydro generator is unable to produce electricity because the water pressure in the pipe is only 0.0017 Mpa in the 60 liter variation. Meanwhile, the pressure needed to drive the micro hydro generator is 0.05 Mpa. So that the micro generator works optimally, it is best to change the shape of the water strorage tube and water circulation path leading to the micro hydro generator.
