Abstract

The development of construction in Indonesia often encounters technical problems related to soil characteristics With the increasingly limited land for development, low-quality soil must still be utilized. To utilize the soil, efforts are needed to improve it. Riau Province is one of the regions in Indonesia that has an extensive peatland area reaching 5.09 million ha. This research was conducted through laboratory testing with a soil stabilization method using a mixture of soil, cement, and Difa Soil Stabilizer additive. The percentages were soil plus cement at 5%, 8%, 10% of the dry weight of the soil and Difa soil stabilizer additive mixture from the maximum cement test results with a composition of 1%, 1.5%, 2% of the weight of cement. The test method was Standard Proctor and CBR test in Soaked and Unsoaked condition. The results of testing the physical properties of soil moisture content of 286.658%, specific gravity of 1.444, sieve analysis retained on sieve No.200 as much as 97.2%, fiber content of 73.4%. The density value of the original soil is 4.99 kN/m3, and the density value of the soil mixture of cement and Difa Soil Stabilizer has an increase in dry weight and a decrease in the optimum moisture content. The results of CBR research for soil samples in Unsoaked condition of native soil of Teluk Meranti showed a CBR value of 4.38% and Soaked 3.97%. In cement mixed soil research, the highest value in 10% cement CBR value is Unsoaked 5.92% and soaked 6.77%. And in the soil mixture of cement and Difa Soil Stabilizer, the highest in 10% cement plus 2% Difa Soil Stabilizer additive obtained a CBR value of 7.16% for Unsoaked and Soaked conditions of 8.24%.
