Abstract
Granite is a stone that has a hard texture and has a fairly large size. Granite stone is widely used so that it makes waste from granite ash, therefore the research aims to utilize granite ash waste as a filler. where the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the use of granite ash as a filler on the characteristics of marshall testing on the Asphalt Concrete - Binder Course (AC- BC) mixture. This study also compared bottom ash as a filler, which is to compare the results of the marshall test between using granite ash filler and bottom ash filler used from previous studies according to Zulfhazli et al. (2016). From the results of the study, the optimum asphalt content can be obtained, which is 5.2%. As for the results of Marshall's appraisal, the greater the percentage of granite filler variation, the Stability, Flow, VMA and VIM values increase. Although the VFA value has decreased, which from the smallest to the largest value is 77.127%, 77.078%, 76.884%, 74.218%, 71.169%. Despite the decrease, the value still meets the Requirements of the 2018 Highway Specification, Revision II. In this study, all variations in the percentage of granite ash used are still included in the 2018 Highway Specification, Revision II.
