Abstract
Students’ Perception of Using Padlet In Learning Paragraph Writing of The Third Semester Students At English Language Education of University Islam Riau. Key words: Students Perceptions, Padlet, Paragraph Writing class Padlet is a platform to simplify learning activities and allow teachers to manage and access the progress of their students while staying connected from anywhere. Therefore this study aims to analyze the Students’ Perception of used Padlet in their learning paragraph writing. The participants of this study was the third semester students of English Education Program at Universitas Islam Riau, while the participants was selected trough questionnaire and interview that consist 36 students and for interview 5 students. In conducting the research, researcher used qualitative and quantitative method. The focus of this research is based on the theory of TAM by Davis (1986) there are four indicators, namely: Perceived Ease of Use, Attitude Toward Usage, and Actual System Use. Close-ended questionnaire and semi-structured interviews were used for this research instrument. The final result of this research for each indicators; Perceived Ease Of Use (71,32%), Perceived Usefulness (72,88%), Attitude Toward Usage (70.75%), And Actual System Use (71.44%), which according to the rating interval of Pranatawijaya et al (2019) is categorized as Agree. The students showed a positive perception on using Padlet in their Paragraph Writing class. This shown by a good response to each indicator. In addition to the Perceived Ease of Use, the students are easy to use the application of Padlet, Perceived Usefulness when using Padlet such as improving their learning outcomes in paragraph writing and motivating in learning. Then the attitude toward using Padlet and the actual system usage in Padlet. However, one aspect that needs to be considered while using Padlet like unstable internet connection. Overall, Padlet makes a significant contribution as a medium in the Paragraph Writing class.
