Abstract

In the current era, people with disabilities have experienced a significant increase in the number of individual involvement in all fields, especially in the field of work. According to data presented in the World Report on Disability published by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2011, people with disabilities have the same rights in involvement in the world of work and community life, because people with disabilities are an integrated part of the complex and dynamic human condition. This study proves that there is a significant relationship between social support and self-adjustment in non-disabled employees in the work environment. The results of the Pearson correlation test showed a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05) with a correlation coefficient of 0.481, which indicates that the relationship between the two variables is in the category of being quite strong and unidirectional. This means that the higher the level of social support received by non-disabled employees—either from coworkers, superiors, or the social environment in the workplace—the higher their ability to adjust. Social support has been shown to influence 23.1% of the self-adjustment variable, indicating its important role in helping non-disabled employees adapt to change, pressure, and the presence of disabled employees in an inclusive work environment. These findings indicate that self-adjustment is not only determined by internal factors, but is also greatly influenced by the social environment and supportive interpersonal relationships.
