Abstract
Most teenagers will reject themselves rather than accept themselves, especially teenagers who are still in their early teens. To get acceptance from others, a person tends to behave in such a way that others like them, this can also increase a person's self-acceptance. Adolescents who are affected by divorce from their parents really need social support from their family and even their closest friends. Peers are one of the factors that influence self-acceptance. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between peer social support and self-acceptance in adolescents who have single parents. Peer social support was measured using a measuring instrument adapted from Puri (2022) based on the aspects of social support explained by Sarafino (2011) which consisted of 34 items. Self-acceptance uses the Berger's self-acceptance scale from Hidayat, et al. (2024) based on the concept of Berger's theory (1952) consisting of 36 items. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total of 60 samples. Based on research conducted on adolescents who have single parents, there is a significant positive relationship between peer social support and self-acceptance with a correlation coefficient between peer social support and self-acceptance of (r) = .522 and a significant value of 0.000 <0.05 is known. This means that the higher the peer social support, the higher the level of self-acceptance in adolescents who have single parents. Likewise, the lower the peer social support, the lower the level of self-acceptance in adolescents who have single parents.
