Abstract

This study aims to test and analyze the effect of profitability variables, sales growth, company size and managerial agency costs on financial distress in property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2020-2022 period. The population in this study was 92 property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2020-2022 period. The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique so that 70 companies were obtained that met the research criteria during the 2020-2022 period. Data analysis used multiple linear regression analysis techniques. Based on the results of the tests that have been carried out, it shows that the profitability variables, company size and managerial agency costs significantly affect financial distress. The sales growth variable does not have a significant effect on financial distress. Simultaneously, the profitability variables, sales growth, company size, and managerial agency costs have a significant effect on financial distress.
