Abstract
This research was motivated by the low level of learning interest among students at Junior High School 2 Left Kampar. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of the cooperative learning method, specifically the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) technique, on students' learning interest in Islamic Education at Junior High School 2 Left Kampar. The type of research used in this study was quantitative with a correlational approach. The population of this study consisted of 75 seventh and eighth-grade students at Junior High School 2 Left Kampar, all of whom were included as samples in this research. Data collection techniques used in this study included questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis techniques employed were descriptive analysis, normality test, linearity test, and hypothesis testing. The results of the study showed that the STAD method was categorized as "very good" with a score in 94.05%. The level of learning interest was in the "very strong" range with a score in 92.86%. In this study, the hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, with a significance level of 0.001, meaning 0.0001 < 0.05. The magnitude of the influence of the cooperative learning method using the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) technique on students' learning interest was in 70%, which falls under the strong criteria. Thus, it can be concluded from the research results that there was a significant influence of the cooperative learning method using the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) technique on students' learning interest in Islamic Education at Junior High School 2 Left Kampar.
