Abstract

This study is motivated by the problem of student learning motivation that occurs in students. There are several problems that exist in students of SMP Negeri 06 Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency, namely the low motivation of students to learn is caused by family, environmental, and teacher factors. If the causes of low student learning motivation can be handled properly, then students will get satisfactory results. This study aims to determine the effect of the school environment on student learning motivation at SMP Negeri 06 Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency. This type of research is quantitative with a correlation approach. This study involved 131 samples, the way to collect data using questionnaires and documentation. From the results of the simple linear regression test which shows a significant probability of 0.00 <0.05, it can be interpreted that there is an influence of the school environment on student learning motivation at SMP Negeri 06 Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency. The level of influence between variable X (influence of the school environment) on variable Y (student learning motivation) is 0.107 or 10.7% located in the range of 0.000 - 0.199, which means that there is an influence with a very weak category level criteria. The level of influence of variable X (school environment) is 82.74% located in the range of 81% -100%, which means that there is an influence with a very high category level criteria. While the level of influence of variable Y (student learning motivation) is 86.78%, which means that there is an influence with a very high category level criteria. So it can be concluded that the results of this study are that there is an influence of the school environment on students' learning motivation at SMP Negeri 06 Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency.
