Abstract
Oil palm farmers in Harapan Jaya Village need FFB management and marketing strategies so that the results can be maximized. The objectives of the study are as follows: (1) Analyzing the characteristics of oil palm farmers and traders in Harapan Jaya Village, Tempuling District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. (2) Analyze smallholder oil palm farming in Harapan Jaya Village, Tempuling District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. (3) Analyzing the marketing of smallholder oil palm FFB in Harapan Jaya Village, Tempuling District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. (4) Designing strategies for farm management and marketing of oil palm FFB for independent smallholders in Harapan Village. This research uses a survey method conducted in Harapan Jaya Village, Tempuling District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province, for 11 months starting from April 2023 to February 2024. The average age of farmers is 41.80 years, the length of education is 8.87 years, family dependents are 3.13 people and experience is 21.20 years. Trader 38.00 years old, 9.00 years old, 21.67 years experience and 3.33 family dependents. the use of Urea and Kcl fertilizers amounted to 182.43 Kg/Ha/Year, Dolomite 345.60 Kg/Ha/Year, and TSP as much as 183.02 Kg/Ha/Year. The use of weeding, spraying, fertilizing and harvesting labor is 8.94/Ha/Year and harvesting and transportation are calculated based on Rp/Ton as much as Rp. 2,895,094.34. The use of production costs amounted to Rp 10,439,857.86 / Ha / Year. The average production is 14,475.47 Kg/Ha/Year. The gross income of farmers is IDR 21,953,982.89 / Ha / Year and net income is IDR 11,514,124.71 / Ha / Year. RCR of 2.10. Institutions and marketing channels include channel I: Farmer-Padagang village levelSubdistrict level trader-Factory. Channel II: Farmer-Merchant subdistrictFactory level. Marketing margin in channel I amounted to Rp 399.83 and channel II amounted to Rp 200.00 Marketing profit of channel I amounted to Rp 562.12 and channel II amounted to Rp 289.97 Farmer's share in channel I was 78.72% of the factory consumer price and channel II was 89.36%. The efficiency in marketing channel I was 8.64 and channel II was 4.79. SWOT analysis obtained coordinates (-0.067 : 0.331) the coordinates are located in quadrant IV namely the Weaknesses-Threats strategy.
