Abstract

The background of this researchfocuses on the knowledge of the Muslim communityabout halal slaughter in the city of Pekanbaru in order to know the high or lowknowledge of halal slaughter.The city of Pekanbaru is a city with a majority Muslimpopulation, this of course makes halal slaughter an important thing to know for theMuslim community in the city of Pekanbaru. The theoretical basis used by theIndonesian Ulama Fatwa no.12 of 2009 concerning halal animal slaughterstandards, on the other hand, halal slaughterers also play an important role in thehalal slaughter process. This research is a research with a descriptive quantitativeapproach where data is collected using a questionnaire and then presented in theform of a table and explained descriptively,with the Muslim community ofPekanbaru city as the object of research in order to measure the level of knowledgeof the Muslim community about halal slaughter in the cit of Pekanbaru includinggood knowledge,sufficient knowledge and lack of knowledge.
