Abstract

The cow profit sharing cooperation is an activity that has been carried out in Melayu Besar Village, Tanah Putih Tanjung Melawan District, Rokan Hilir Regency. The local people usually call it "Maruh Sapi", which means sharing profits between capital owners and cattle breeders. The aim of the study was to determine the harmony of mudharabah contract in the maruh sapi cooperation in Melayu Besar Village, Tanah Putih Tanjung Melawan District and to determine the impacts of the maruh sapi cooperation on community welfare in Melayu Besar Village, Tanah Putih Tanjung Melawan District, Rokan Hilir Regency. The type of the study was field research conducted in Melayu Besar Village. In this study, the researcher interviewed key informants and additional informants. To obtain valid data, the researcher took from primary and secondary data sources. The data collection techniques of the study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study were in line with the mudharabah contract in the maruh sapi cooperation and its impacts on the community welfare in Melayu Besar Village that the implementation of the mudharabah contract had not been fully fulfilled, because in the process of providing capital there were no witnesses, the contract established between the capital owner and the cattle breeder was only verbally and the time of cooperation had no deadline. This was because the community still carried out existing customs and habits. However, in the execution of the maruh sapi cooperation carried out in Melayu Besar Village, it was in accordance with the Mudharabah contract because in the process of maruh sapi cooperation, the conditions for valid mudharabah had been met, so that it did not violate the mudharabah contract and the impacts of the maruh sapi cooperation such as the economic impact, social impact, and cultural impact had led to a positive direction that the community still preserved the existing customs and traditions in Melayu Besar Village.
