Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia Representative of Riau Province in making efforts to prevent maladministration of public service delivery in Pekanbaru City. Assessment indicators include coordination, socialization, and evaluation. This type of research uses qualitative, which is a study taken from the phenomenon of what is experienced. data sources in this study are primary data and secondary data obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. Two groups of key informants and informants, namely informants totaling 1 person and informants totaling 4 people. The sampling technique used in determining individual samples (key informants and informants) uses purposive sampling. The data collection technique used consists of primary data collected using interviews and secondary data collected using observation techniques. The data analysis technique used in this research is to use qualitative descriptions that are supportive in explaining the results of the research and then analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. Based on the results of data analysis conducted, researchers assess and conclude that efforts to prevent public service maladministration that have been carried out by the Ombudsman RI Representative of Riau Province can be said to have not run effectively. The process of preventing public service maladministration does not run optimally due to the lack of human resources available at the Riau Ombudsman. Ombudsman RI Representative of Riau Province only has 14 assistants who handle report settlement and prevention efforts, while the work area of responsibility covers 12 regencies and cities in Riau province.
