Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the Implementation of the Stages of the 2024 Election by the Election Supervisory Agency of the Meranti Islands Regency in Rangsang Barat District. The method used is qualitative research. Direct sources of data come from key informants, namely the Chairperson of the Regency Bawaslu and informants consisting of the Chairperson of the PPK, TPS Supervisors, and the community who have the right to vote in the 2024 election. Data collection techniques are carried out by interview and documentation. The results of this study concluded that the implementation of the Stages of the 2024 Election by the Election Supervisory Agency of the Meranti Islands Regency in Rangsang Barat District as seen from preventive supervision and repressive supervision has gone as expected. Preventive supervision is supervision of the implementation of campaigns and campaign funds that are not reported by election participants, so that there are door-to-door campaigns, provision or distribution of basic necessities, money, and other assistance without being supervised by Bawaslu. In addition, in the campaign process, many campaign tools were installed or attached by election participants, but during the quiet period until the election day, these campaign tools were still visible. Then, in the distribution of logistics in several TPSs which were late, thus slowing down the process of distributing voter invitations and others by the KPPS. Repressive supervision, there was a lack of thoroughness of TPS supervisors in supervising the performance of the KPPS, so that there were several TPSs that made mistakes in counting the ballots and causing a re-election. In addition, the process of the election stages supervised by Bawaslu has been running according to applicable provisions.
