Abstract

This study was motivated by the development of zakat fund management. The Indonesian Zakat Initiative (IZI) of Pekanbaru Branch is a zakat institution that functions as a zakat manager with the aim of building an authentic zakat institution. IZI Riau has carried out various activities, such as zakat programs, alms and social assistance. One of them is ‘Eazy Chicken’ which is assistance to the people's economy, which focuses on the poor and needy who are included in the 8 asnaf. This study was conducted at the Indonesian Zakat Initiative (IZI) of Riau Branch. The problem formulation of the study was How the Concept of Donation Fund Management in the Micro Business Empowerment Program of Eazy Chicken by the Indonesian Zakat Initiative (IZI). The aim of the study was to determine the roles of IZI in managing zakat funds through the Eazy Chicken program in helping the people's economy. The type of the study was qualitative research. The data collection techniques of the study were observation, interviews and documentation, and the collected data were analyzed by applying the qualitative descriptive theory through the stages of data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions based on the data analysis from the results of interviews with the informants. The conclusion of the study showed that the Eazy Chicken program carried out by IZI could help the economy of beneficiaries, although not completely. And also in the system of providing capital assistance provided by IZI had been implemented in good and correct methods. However, in its implementation, there were still several obstacles, such as in terms of training or selection of beneficiaries. So, it is expected that there will be changes in these aspects so that it can have a better impact in the future in the Eazy Chicken program.
