Abstract

One plant that has beautiful flowers and is often cultivated is the orchid. Orchids are one of the potential ornamental plants among other ornamental plants. This orchid plant is an ornamental plant that has high aesthetic value. This research aims to analyze: 1) Characteristics of entrepreneurs and business profiles, 2) Use of production factors and, 3) Analysis of farming (production costs, production, income, efficiency and BEP) of Deni Erianto Qanita Orchid Nursery Dendrobium Orchid Plants. This research method was carried out at the Qanita Orchid Nursery orchid garden using a survey method. Research on Deni Erianto Qanita Orchid Nursery's Dendrobium orchid farming business located in Kulim District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, was carried out for 6 months from July 2023 – December 2023. The respondents in this research were 1 entrepreneur, 3 employees. The data used comes from primary data and secondary data. Data was analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The research results show that: 1) Entrepreneurs have an average age of 44 years and workers have an average age of 31 years. The educational level of entrepreneurs is 16 years (S1), while the workforce for 12 years is 2 people and for 9 years is 1 person. Entrepreneurs' farming experience is 7 years and the average workforce's farming experience is 3 years. Meanwhile, the number of family dependents of entrepreneurs is 2 people and the number of family dependents of workers is 3 people. The business scale is included in the household scale, because it has a workforce of 3 people, capital of Rp. 10.906.000, 2) Land area 1 Ha. 1,000 seeds were used, 4,200 ml QC Gen 2 fertilizer, 800 ml QC HD and 1,400 ml QC Gen 3. 1,000 ml of sanite pesticide/month, 40 liters of pertalite petrol, 3) Fixed costs consist of salaries, equipment depreciation costs and electricity costs. Labor salaries are Rp. 2,000,000/month, for depreciation costs of Rp. 71,294 and electricity costs Rp. 327,600 . The total costs incurred by entrepreneurs are Rp. 25,598,894 ha/month. Gross income worth Rp. 37,500,000/ha/month and net income of Rp. 11,901,106 ha/month. The Return Cost Ratio (RCR) obtained from orchid farming is 1.46. BEP value of Rp. 12.497.840,41 while the BEP unit is 26 units and the BEP price is Rp. 170.659 Keywords: Orchid, Farming, Income
