Abstract
Marketing of palm oil FFB in Sei Beras-Beras Village is different between those through KUD and Non-KUD. This research aims to: (1) Understand the characteristics of farmers and marketing actors; (2) Knowing the profile of KUD Karya Tani; (3) Analyzing marketing channels and institutions, costs, margins, profits and farmer's share; (4) Analyze the marketing comparison of palm oil FFB through KUD and Non-KUD. This research was conducted using a survey research method. The research location is in Sei Beras-Beras Village, Lubuk Batu Jaya District, Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province. The research was carried out for 6 months starting from June-November 2023. The sampling technique was purposive sampling on 15 KUD and non-KUD farmers. Meanwhile, 5 people were taken as samples of traders and 1 person of large traders (RAM) using the census method. The data collected comes from primary and secondary data. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the research show that (1) The average age of KUD oil palm farmers is 43 years, the length of education is 8 years, the farming experience is 5 years and the number of dependents in the family is 4 people. Meanwhile, non-KUD farmers have an average age of 48 years, 8 years of education, 5 years of business experience and 3 family dependents; (2) KUD Karya Tani was established on May 5 1992 by local community leaders. This KUD consists of several divisions, including the general division, general trade/waserda division, plantation division, and the USP division with 82 members. (3) Marketing institutions through KUD consist of farmers - KUD - Factories. Meanwhile, Non-KUD consists of farmers - collecting traders - wholesalers - factories. The total marketing costs through KUD are IDR 198.42, while through Non-KUD it is IDR 308.08. The marketing margin through KUD is IDR 230.00 while through Non KUD it is IDR 337.00. The profit from marketing through KUD is IDR 31.58, while through Non KUD it is IDR 18.34. Marketing efficiency through KUD is 10.28%, while through Non-KUD it is 18.34%. Farmer's Share in TBS marketing through KUD is 88.08%, while through Non KUD it is 79.94%. (4) There are differences between the marketing of palm oil FFB through KUD and Non-KUD and it is known that the marketing performance through KUD is better than Non-KUD.
