Abstract
Oil palm farming in Kuantan Mudik Subdistrict is becoming increasingly popular. This can be seen from the increasing land area of oil palm plantations in Kuantan Mudik Subdistrict every year. Oil palm farming is expected to be profitable and prosperous for farmers. This study aims to analyze: 1) the characteristics of farmers and oil palm farming profiles, 2) the use of production factors, production costs, production, income, and farming efficiency, and 3) farm production risk. This research was conducted in Kuantan Mudik Subdistrict from March to December 2023. The method used was survey method. The selection of respondents was carried out by simpl e random sampling of 50 farmers. The data analysis used qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that: 1) The average age of farmers is 48 years, with an average education of 10 years (high school), 3 dependents in the family, an average farming experience of 14 years, and the average cultivated area is 5.33 ha. 2) The use of production factors: Urea 169,9 kg/acre/year , NPK 89,1 kg/acre/year, and Dolomite 115 kg/acre/year; pesticides: gramoxone 3,26 liters/acre/year, round-up 3,38 liters/acre/year; labor amounted to 40,34 HKP/acre/year (workers inside of the family 1,58 HKP and workers outside of the family 38,76 HKP) and 6 unit of equipment s. The production cost of oil palm farming in the Kuantan Mudik District is obtained at 9.578.121 IDR/acre/year, with a production yield of 13.532 kg/acre/year. The gross income is 37.113.039 IDR/acre/year, while the net income is 27.534.918 IDR/ha/year, resulting in an RCR of 3.87 , which means that oil palm farming in the Kuantan Mudik District is profitable. 3) The production risk is 0.037 and the income risk is 0.050, which is considered low risks.
