Abstract
This research is entitled "The interaction and main effects of rice husk charcoal and KCl fertilizer on the growth and yield of shallot plants (Allium ascalonicum L.) on PMK soil". The aim of the research was to determine the interaction and main effects of rice husk charcoal and KCl fertilizer on the growth and yield of shallot plants (Allium ascalonicum L.) on PMK soil. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Air Uang, Air Winter Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research lasted for 3 months starting from July to September 2023. This research used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, namely the first factor, rice husk charcoal consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 1.5, 3, and 4.5 kg/plot. The second factor of KCl fertilizer consists of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 10, 20 and 30 gr/plot. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, age at harvest, number of tubers per cluster, wet weight of tubers per cluster, dry weight of tubers per cluster, weight loss of tubers. The observation data was analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results of the research showed that the effect of the interaction between rice husk charcoal and KCl fertilizer was significant on the number of leaves, harvest age, number of tubers per hill, wet weight of the perumpun tubers, dry weight of the perumpun tubers. The best treatment is a combination of 4.5 kg/plot rice husk charcoal and 30 g/plot KCl fertilizer. The main effect of rice husk charcoal was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment is rice husk charcoal 4.5 kg/plot. The effect of KCl fertilizer is significant on all observation parameters. KCl fertilizer treatment 30 g/plot.
