Abstract

The crime of theft with violence is a crime that often occurs among society due to a lack of understanding of the law and a lack of legal awareness. Violent theft crimes are a common phenomenon that occurs in big cities, in addition to the population increasing every year, low awareness of the law, and high unemployment due to lack of job opportunities. The main problem of this research is to find out and analyze the factors that cause the crime of violent theft and how the police are trying to overcome the crime of violent theft in the jurisdiction of the Senapelan Police. This research uses an empirical legal research/sociological legal research approach in this case relating to efforts to overcome violent theft crimes in the jurisdiction of the Senapelan Police, with an analytical descriptive approach. The data used is primary data From the research results, the author can conclude that efforts to overcome crimes of violent theft in the jurisdiction of the Senapelan Police are through preemptive, preventive and repressive efforts. In enforcing the law against traffic violations committed by teenagers, several obstacles arise due to a lack of legal awareness, people's lifestyles, low economic factors in society, high unemployment rates due to lack of employment opportunities which are factors in teenagers committing crimes and sanctions that are too light for perpetrators of crimes.
