Abstract
The crime of theft occurs because it is motivated by advances in sophisticated technology which causes human resources to become increasingly unused, resulting in more unemployment and reduced job opportunities, which results in less costs for daily living needs being met. The crime of theft can also occur due to the low level of human (society) education which results in free things happening without thinking for the future. Theft is a very detrimental act, both for the victims of the perpetrator and for society, including because humans are social creatures, resulting in loss of balance, peace and social order. The formulation of the problem in this research is divided into two main problems, namely, what factors cause theft of palm fruit in the jurisdiction of the Kabun Sector Police, the second problem is how the police handle theft of palm fruit in the jurisdiction of the Kabun Sector Police. This research uses a type of empirical sociological research, Observational Research, namely by taking data directly into the field (research) to obtain accurate information. The data used is secondary data and the data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation techniques. The results are collected in the research conclusion using the deductive method. This method is a way of making conclusions from general research discussion matters to specific matters. The research results found that several causal factors were used as the basis for the perpetrators, such as economic factors, educational factors, environmental factors, high palm oil price factors, and employment factors. There are several obstacles in dealing with cases of palm oil theft, the first is internal obstacles, namely facilities and infrastructure. The facilities and infrastructure used to support the process of overcoming criminal acts of theft include the availability of investigation and inquiry tools, transportation facilities for patrol purposes, and supervision.
