Abstract
Divorce in Indonesia has increased significantly in recent years, raising concerns about its impact on social and family structures. Divorce is the intention to break off a relationship between a man and a woman in marriage for certain reasons. The effectiveness of the implementation of Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Marriage as an amendment to Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage (abbreviated as Government Regulation Number 9 of 1975). includes: first, "Divorce Talak", second, "Divorce Sue". Regarding this study, there are several formulations of legal issues, which are as follows. First What are the factors that cause the increase in the divorce rate in the Dumai City Religious Court? Second, how to overcome the increase in divorce rates in the Dumai City Religious Court? For this study, the author uses a type of empirical sociological research (Observational Research) to collect real and measurable data through field research to understand social phenomena, based on testable and observable evidence. The data and data sources used by the author are secondary data, while the data collection techniques used by the author are using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Meanwhile, the method of drawing conclusions used by the author in this study is the deductive method, which is to draw conclusions from general to special. From the results of the research and discussion that the author found, the following are as follows: first, on the effectiveness of the implementation of marriage against the existence of a marriage age limit after the enactment of Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning marriage, namely men and women have been 19 years old, there was an increase in 2022 to 2023 as many as 24 people who filed for divorce to the Dumai Religious Court. Second The factors that have increased divorce in the Dumai Religious Court are: the dominant factors are economic factors, continuous quarrels, domestic violence, gambling or adultery, lack of self-awareness and responsibility of each party.
