Abstract
Bananas are a horticultural crop commodity that has many health benefits because they contain complete vitamins. Banana cultivation has been carried out so that banana production reaches optimum values. The research objectives are 1) identifying farmer characteristics and the profile of Kepok banana farming, 2) analyzing the use of production factors, production costs, income and efficiency of Kepok banana farming 3) identifying marketing channels, marketing costs for Kepok bananas. The research used a survey method in Talontam Village, Benai District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Sampling was carried out by census, totaling 15 people consisting of 5 farmers and 10 Kepok banana traders. Farming data collection and marketing analysis were carried out through interviews and filling out questionnaires by farmers and traders of Kepok bananas. Data analysis techniques use qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the research found that the average age of Kepok banana farmers was 41 years, education level was 11 years, farming experience was 12,6 years, the number of dependents in the family was 3 people, with an average area cultivated of 2 hectares. The average total costs incurred by Kepok banana farmers is IDR 20.263.533 /cultivated area/year which comes from an average fixed cost of IDR 3.925.533/cultivated area/year and an average variable cost of IDR 16.311.000 /cultivated area /year. The average production of Kepok bananas is 6.400 kg/cultivated area/year with an average selling price of IDR 16,000/kg. The average gross income of Kepok banana farmers is IDR 102.400.00 /farm/year. The total costsincurred by farmers are IDR 20.263.533 /arable/year so that the net income received by farmers is IDR 82.136.467 /arable/year. The R/C ratio obtained is 5,05. Marketingof Kepok bananas in Talontam Village, Benai District consists of 2 marketing channels. Marketing channel I involves farmers selling to retailers, then to final consumers. Marketing channel II is where farmers sell to final consumers. The total marketing costs for channel I are IDR 2.500/kg, the profit obtained is IDR 1,500/kg, the marketing efficiency is 13%, and the farmer's share is 83%. Channel II obtained marketing costs of IDR 1,000/kg, profits were IDR 1,000/kg, marketing efficiency was 6%, and farmer's share was 100%.
