Abstract

Research on the effect of Pekanbaru City liquid waste and Hydrilla verticillata on the growth of cocoa plant seeds (Theobroma cacao L.). The aim is to determine the interaction and main effects of Pekanbaru City liquid waste and Hydrilla verticillata on the growth of cocoa plant seeds. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, for 4 months from August to November 2024. This research used a completely randomized factorial design, consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the dose of Pekanbaru City liquid waste which consists of 4 levels of treatment, namely without treatment, 500, 750, 1000 ml/plant and the second factor is the dose of Hydrilla verticillata green fertilizer consisting of 4 levels of treatment, namely without treatment, 200, 400, 600 g / plant, so there are 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications, so there are 48 experimental units. The parameters observed were plant height, net assimilation rate, relative growth rate, number of leaves, stem diameter and root volume. The observation data was analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results of the research showed that the combination of treatment of Pekanbaru City liquid waste and Hydrilla verticillata had a significant effect on the observed parameters of net assimilation rate, relative growth rate, stem diameter, root volume, and had no significant effect on the parameters of plant height and number of leaves. The best treatment is a dose of Pekanbaru City liquid waste of 1000 ml/plant and a dose of Hydrilla verticillata green fertilizer of 600 g/plant.
