Abstract
The rate of oil production in each oilfield well as time goes on the production will decrease. This is due to the decrease in reservoir pressure and some wells have high water cut. The selection of the right artificial lift method is needed to obtain optimum oil production. BOB PT.BSP - Pertamina Hulu oil field has already used an Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) which at a certain time has also decreased the ability to lift fluid due to the overload or underload of the pump, because the number of stages installed is not correct and besides production equipment can damage itself. One of the ESP components that plays an important role in obtaining fluid capacity is impellers found on each stage in the pump, where each impeller will continue to add pressure and accelerate the movement of the fluid flowing through it with centrifugal force. The selection of possible stages is one way to produce maximum flow rates by optimizing ideal stage installations. Then it is necessary to know the basis of ESP along with all its aspects that can influence the selection of stages so that the fluid lifted covers the installed pump capacity. To evaluate production operations Nodal System Analysis can be used where the nodal is located at the bottom of the well which connects the pump intake stage pressure curve with the inflow performance relationship curve. V-43 wells and V-169 wells with a fluid production rate of 440 BFPD and 388 BFPD, selected REDA 400 DN450 pump types with an efficiency range of 350-550 stb / d. Based on the calculation results, the intersection between the curves is obtained, that in well V-43 with high PI 2.8 bbl / d / psi can be produced at 546 stbl / d with 75 stages and well V-169 with high PI 3.3 bbl / d / psi can be produced at 548 stbl / d with 94 stages. So there is no downthrust or upthrust and the pump works according to its capacity
