Abstract

This research aims to determine the interaction and main natural effects of paitan compost dosage and NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer dosage on the growth and production of flowering cabbage plants (Brassica oleracea var botritys). This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharudin Nasution Km 11, Air Winter Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The research was carried out from May 2024 to August 2024. The design used in this research was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor is paitan compost consisting of 4 levels of treatment, namely without treatment, 250, 500 and 750 g/polybag and the second factor is the dose of NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer consisting of 4 levels of treatment, namely without treatment, 5, 10 and 15 g/ polybags, so there are 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications, so there are 48 experimental units. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, flowering age, harvest age, flower diameter, crop weight. The observation data was analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results of the research showed that the interaction and main effect of the dose of paitan compost and the dose of NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer had a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, crop diameter and crop weight, and had no significant effect on the parameters of flowering age and harvest age. The best treatment is a combination of 750 g/polybag paitan compost dose and 15 g/polybag NPK fertilizer dose 16:16:16.
