Abstract
Research entitled The Effect of Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) Pineapple Peel and Growing Media on the Growth and Yield of Butterhead Lettuce Plants (Lactuca sativa var. capitata) in the NFT Hydroponic System. It was carried out at the Agrotechnology Laboratory of the Hydroponics Unit, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University for 4 months from April 2024 to July 2024. This research aims to determine the effect of the interaction of pineapple peel POC and growing media on the growth and yield of butterhead lettuce plants in the NFT hydroponic system. This research uses a split plot design (RPT) in RAL which consists of 2 factors, namely the main plot and sub plot factors. The main plot factor was the POC concentration of pineapple skin with 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 125, 250 and 375 ml per liter of water. The subplot factor is a growing medium with 4 types, namely husk charcoal, cocopeat, perlite and hydrotone. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, wet weight, dry weight, root length, root volume and root crown ratio. The observation data was analyzed for variance and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The research results showed that the interaction effect of pineapple peel POC and various planting media had a significant effect on the observations of wet weight, dry weight and root volume. The best treatment was found at a pineapple peel POC concentration of 125 ml/l water and cocopeat growth medium (N2M2). The main effect of pineapple peel POC was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment is at a concentration of 125 ml/l water (N2). The main influence of various planting media had a significant effect on the observation of dry weight, root volume and root crown ratio. The best treatment is found in cocopeat media (M2).
