Abstract

Decreasing of hydrocarbon flowrates in oil well is a chalenge that must be passed by oil and gas company which take place over time. The maximum flowrates of production hydrocarbon can be increased and the operational cost can be decreased by using production optimization in several levels of well condition and facility condition of the particular well. Using the Smart Well Completion (SWC) or Intelligent Completion method at multilateral well is expected to enhance well productivity and to reduce unwanted water and gas production as well as to reduce the cost and risk for well intervention activity due to the controlling process of SWC can be performed on surface facility by using remote controlling system. Well testing equipments on the surface facility are used at Well ZFH to provide the well production test data. The well test equipment that was used at Well ZFH was Multiphase Flow Meter (MPFM) Phase Tester. The combination of percentage ICV at SWC was controlled to get the well production test data that will be analyzed to achieve the correct ICV setting for every laterals at Well ZFH. The result of this research showed that the oil production of well ZFH increased to 2963 bbl/d with total liquid production 5375 bbl/d compare with the last result that was 1550 bbl/d of oil production with total liquid production 6200 bbl/d, the water cut also reduced from 75% to 44%. This research also showed that not all the laterals have the same hydrocarbon production potential. Lateral MB and lateral L2 have better hydrocarbon production potential than lateral L3. The correct ICV setting to achieve oil production maximum, reducing unwanted water production, and to extend the life of the well ZFH are ICV lateral MB at position 3, ICV lateral L2 at position 10, and ICV lateral L3 at fully closed position.
