Abstract

The study entitled the effect of banana stem POC and potassium phosphate on the growth and production of cayenne pepper plants in peat media was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Air Dingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, for 4 months from May to August 2024. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) Factorial consisting of two factors. The first factor is banana stem POC (P) consisting of 4 levels, namely: 250, 500, 750 ml per polybag while the second factor is potassium phosphate fertilizer consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely: 3, 6, 9 g per polybag. The parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of primary branches, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, number of remaining fruits per plant. The data were analyzed statistically and continued with the 5% BNJ test. The results showed that the administration of banana stem POC and potassium phosphate significantly affected the measurement of plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of primary branches, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, number of remaining fruits per plant. The best treatment was a concentration of banana stem POC of 750 ml/l of water per polybag and potassium phosphate of 9 g per polybag. The main effect of banana stem POC significantly affected all observation parameters. The best treatment was a concentration of 750 ml/l of water per polybag. The main effect of potassium phosphate significantly affected all observation parameters with the best treatment being a dose of 9 g per polybag.
