Abstract

Crime prevention is a rational effort by the authorities and members of society to overcome criminal acts to achieve welfare in society, in overcoming theft with violence is done preventively, repressively, and pre-emptively. Preventive control is taking preventive measures before a crime occurs, while repressive is an action in the form of law enforcement by imposing punishment on perpetrators of crimes which is useful for minimizing criminal acts which aim to avoid the crime from happening again. Pre-emptive repairs the consequences of criminal acts, especially individuals who have committed the crime. The main problem that will be discussed in writing this thesis is how the police have tried to overcome the crime of theft with violence in the jurisdiction of the Mandau Police and what obstacles are faced by the police in overcoming the crime of theft with violence in the jurisdiction of the Mandau Police. In this study, the author uses the empirical legal research method/sociological legal research, which uses the method of observation and data collection directly on the research subjects. by conducting a field survey and interviewing respondents, namely Panit 3 of the Mandau Police Criminal Investigation Unit and perpetrators of violent theft. Efforts to overcome the crime of theft with violence by the Police in the jurisdiction of the Mandau Police are to take action by narrowing the space for movement, reducing and minimizing the influence of several other aspects of life. The next is the effort to arrest, investigate, and others against the perpetrators of the crime.The obstacles faced by the Police in dealing with violent theft in the jurisdiction of the Mandau Police are the lack of human resources (personnel) in comparison to the vast area, the lack of facilities owned by the Mandau Police, both vehicles and infrastructure, the lack of IT networks, and the jurisdiction of the Mandau Police is an inter-provincial highway.
