Abstract

Research with the title "The Effect of Application of Chicken Eggshell Flour and Bamboo Shoot Extract on the Growth and Yield of Purple Eggplant Plants (Solanum melongena L.)". was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharudin Nasution No 113, Air Winter Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru, from October to January 2023. The research aims to determine the main and interaction effects of chicken egg shell flour and bamboo shoot extract on growth and yield of purple eggplant plants. The research used a Completely Randomized Factorial Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the dose of chicken eggshell flour with 4 treatment levels, namely 0;15;30 and 45g per plant and the second was the concentration of bamboo shoot extract with 4 treatment levels, namely 0;20;40 and 60 ml per liter of water. The parameters observed were: plant height, flowering age, maturity, number of fruit per plant, weight of fruit per plant, weight of fruit per fruit and number of remaining fruit. The observation data was analyzed statistically and continued with a further BNJ test with a level of 5%. The results showed that the effect of chicken egg shell flour and bamboo shoot extract was significant on the parameters of flowering age, harvest age, plant height, number of fruit per plant, weight of fruit per plant, weight of fruit per fruit and number of remaining fruit. The best treatment combination was a dose of chicken egg shell flour of 45g per plant and a bamboo shoot extract concentration of 60 ml per liter of water. The main effect of chicken egg shell flour was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment is a dose of 45g per plant. The main effect of bamboo shoot extract was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment is a concentration of 60 ml per liter of water.
