Abstract

This study aims to determine the main interaction response of bokashi cow dung and coconut water POC on the growth of areca nut seedlings (Areca catechu L.). This study was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution Km 11 No. 113, Air Dingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The study was conducted for 4 months from February to May 2024. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 2 factors. The first factor is cow dung bokashi consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 150, 300, and 450 g per polybag and the second factor is the dose of coconut water POC consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 50, 100, and 150 ml per liter of water so that there are 16 treatment combinations with 3 repetitions. The parameters observed are plant height, number of leaf stalks, length of leaf stalks, stem diameter, longest root length, root volume and root crown ratio. The data were analyzed statistically and continued (BNJ) at 5%. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the interaction of giving cow dung bokashi and coconut water POC has a significant effect on the parameters of plant height, leaf stalk length, longest root length, root volume and root crown ratio, while the parameters of the number of leaf stalks and stem diameter are not significantly different in interaction. The main effect of bokashi cow dung is real on all parameters. The best treatment is bokashi cow dung 450 g per polybag. The main effect of coconut water POC is real on all parameters observed. The best treatment is coconut water POC 150 ml per liter of water.
