Abstract

This research aims to determine the main and interaction effects of laundry waste and Hydrilla verticillata on the growth and production of purple eggplant. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City, for four months from June to September 2022. This research used a Completely Randomized Factorial Design (CRD), which consisted of two factors and 3 replications. The first factor is the concentration of laundry waste (L) which consists of 4 levels, namely 0, 25, 50, 75% and the second factor is the dose of Hydrilla verticillata from 4 levels, namely 0, 0.6; 1.2; and 1.8 kg per plot. The parameters observed were net assimilation rate, relative growth rate, plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per fruit, number of remaining fruit per plant. The data was analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The research results showed that the effect of the interaction between laundry waste and Hydrilla verticillata treatment was significant on the net assimilation rate, relative growth rate, plant height, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per fruit and number of remaining fruit per plant. The best treatment is a combination of 50% laundry waste and Hydrilla verticillata 1.8 kg per plot. The main influence of laundry waste is significant on all observation parameters, the best treatment is 50% laundry waste. The main effect of Hydrilla verticillata was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment is Hydrilla verticillata at a dose of 1.8 kg per plot.
