Abstract

The research that has been conducted aims to determine the effect of interaction or main brown seaweed bokashi (Sargassum sp) and NPK grower on the production of cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.) in red-yellow podzolic soil. This research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, for 4 months starting from September to December 2023. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) Factorial consisting of 2 factors, namely the first factor is brown seaweed bokashi consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 1.5, 3, 4.5 kg per plot and the second factor is NPK grower fertilizer consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 10, 20, 30 g per plot. The parameters observed were flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plot, fruit weight per plot, fruit weight per plant and the longest fruit length. Observation data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of brown seaweed bokashi and NPK grower significantly affected the parameters of fruit weight per plot and fruit weight per plant. The best treatment was Brown Seaweed Bokashi 4.5 kg per plot and NPK Grower 30 g per plot. The main effect of Brown Seaweed Bokashi dose significantly affected all parameters. The best treatment was Brown Seaweed Bokashi 4.5 kg per plot. The main effect of NPK Grower did not significantly affect all parameters.
