Abstract

This research aims to determine the interaction of the position of the height of the hydroponic gutter using NFT verticulture and two lettuce varieties on the growth and production of lettuce. This research was carried out at Dokagu UIR Housing Block D No 2, Air Winter Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City from November to December 2022. This research used a Divided Plot Design which consisted of 2 factors. The first factor is the position of height (A) as the main plot. The second factor is two varieties of lettuce (B) as subplots. The treatment at the height of the gutter consisted of 4 treatment levels and the two lettuce varieties consisted of 2 treatment levels so that there were 8 treatment combinations with 6 replications. Thus, this research consisted of 48 experimental units. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, economic wet weight, dry weight, root crown ratio, and root volume. If the calculated F obtained is greater than the F table, then continue by carrying out a further Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) test at the 5% level. Based on the research that has been carried out, it is concluded that the interaction effect of the position of the height of the hydroponic gutter and the two lettuce varieties has a significant effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, economic wet weight and root volume. The best treatment was a height of 105 cm (A1) and two varieties of grand rapid lettuce (B1). Meanwhile, the effect of the main plot of hydroponic height was significant on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, economical wet weight, dry weight and root volume with the best treatment, namely a height of 105 cm (A1). Meanwhile, the best treatment subplot was the grand rapid (B1) lettuce type.
