Abstract

This study is entitled Test of Application of Catfish Waste POC and NPK 16:16:16 on the Growth and Production of Sweet Corn Plants (Zea mays Sacharata sturt. L). This research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, from October 2023 to January 2024. This study aims to determine the interaction and main effects of catfish waste POC and NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer on the growth and production of sweet corn plants (Zea mays Sacharata sturt. L). The experimental design used was a factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the concentration of Catfish Waste POC with 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 100, 200, 300 ml/plant and the second factor is the dose of NPK 16:16:16 with 4 treatment levels of 0, 3, 6, 9, g per plant so that there are 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications. The parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, harvest age, cob length, cob diameter without husk, cob weight without husk and number of rows per cob. The research data were analyzed statistically and continued with a 5% (BNJ) test. Where the best treatment of Catfish Waste POC was 300 ml/l and NPK 16:16:16 6 g/plant. The main effect of Catfish Waste POC was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment of Catfish Waste POC was 300 ml/l (P3). The main effect of NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment of NPK 16:16:16 6 g/plant (N2).
