Abstract

Judges are the main pillars in the justice system that must be maintained to ensure independence in carrying out their duties. However, in reality it is not uncommon for acts of degrading the honor and dignity of judges (PMKH) to occur, including in the jurisdiction of the Bengkalis District Court. Acts of degrading the honor and dignity of judges are acts committed is an act committed by individuals, groups or legal entities that interfere with judges in examining, adjudicating, deciding cases, as well as threatening security both inside and outside the trial, insulting judges and courts. PMKH is different from Contempt of Court (CoC). The problem that the author examines in this study is regarding law enforcement against perpetrators who commit acts of degrading the honor and dignity of judges in the jurisdiction of the Bengkalis District Court and what obstacles exist in the implementation of enforcement of acts of degrading the honor and dignity of judges in the jurisdiction of the Bengkalis District Court. The type of research used in this study includes sociological or empirical legal research. The research was conducted at the Bengkalis District Court. Data collection techniques using interviews, observations and literature studies. The population and samples were at the Bengkalis District Court and the Bengkalis Resort Police. The data analysis used is a qualitative technique by drawing conclusions deductively. From the results of the study that law enforcement against acts of degrading the honor and dignity of judges (PMKH) in the jurisdiction of the Bengkalis District Court has been carried out even though the results cannot be known to the perpetrators. The obstacles in law enforcement against acts of degrading the honor and dignity of judges (PMKH) in the jurisdiction of the Bengkalis District Court are that there is no security equipment in the judge's official residence and the evidence has been removed, making it impossible to investigate.
