Abstract

Wax problem in field Y well X PT. SPR Langgak results in a drastic decrease in oil production from an average production of 40 BOPD in 2010-2014 to 20 BOPD the following year until mid-2017. This indicates the occurrence of wax deposits in perforations after a long period of production due to oil conditions paraffinic . There are several ways to deal with wax that are appropriate based on where it is formed. Counter measures include the prevention and removal of wax when it has been fomed, can be carried out chemically. One method of prevention of wax that occurs in field Y wells X PT. SPR Langgak is a DHC ( Down Hole Cleaning ) by injecting chemicals such as wax inhibitor in the form of solvent directly into the well. The success of this method can be seen from the increase in oil production from the average 22.48 BOPD (2016-2017) to 24.40 BOPD (2017- 2018), increasing PI ( Productivity Index ) from 0.17 BOPD/Psi to 0.18 BOPD/Psi, increase in the IPR curve (Inflow Performance Relationship), and the gain obtained after doing DHC (Down Hole Cleaning) of US$ 542,091.798.
