Abstract

Paprika is a vegetable commodity that has high economic value, where most of the harvest is exported abroad. This research aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer and two varieties on the growth and yield of paprika (capsicum annuum var.grossum). This research was carried out at Dokagu UIR Housing Block B No. 2, Air Winter Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. This research was carried out for 4 months, February – May 2023. This research used a Divided Plot Design (RPT) consisting of a main plot and sub plots, the main plot was the dose of POC (A) fertilizer which consisted of 4 treatment levels and the sub plots were Various types of paprika (B) consisting of 2 treatment levels, obtained 8 treatment combinations with 3 repetitions, so there were 24 experimental units. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, number of productive plants, flowering age, largest fruit weight, number of fruit per plant and fruit weight per plant. The data was analyzed statistically and continued with the honest real difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The research results showed that the main plot of POC fertilizer dose and sub-plots of various types of peppers had a significant effect on all observation parameters. All paprika plant parameters observed in this study obtained the best results at a POC fertilizer dose of 19.5 ml and various types of red star red peppers. POC fertilizer doses were significantly different in all plant parameters. The treatment of various types of peppers did not differ significantly in the parameters of plant height, stem diameter, number of productive fruit, and significantly different in other parameters.
